Hi! I'm Hussein. I've lived in Luxor since I was born here and now I'm a travel agent. I'll let you know what I saw or heard lately in my town. Need a help for your tour? |
I'm back from England! Please let me know if you need any
help in Luxor! Mar. 10, 2006
Ramadan will start October 4 or 5 this year. We don't eat
or drink during the daytime and the town will be rather quiet. After the sunset,
everyone goes out to celebrate. Temples and tombs are the same as usual but be
careful, museums may closes earlier. Aug. 28, 2005
Aida is coming soon in Luxor!
Annual Egyptian Marathon will be held on 20th of this month.
Its start and goal is in front of the Temple of Hatshepsut and our village, New
Qurna is a part of the running course. I'm looking forward to seeing you on the
road! Feb. 6, 2004
Ramadan has been over and now we're looking forward to the
Christmas season. As you may already know, Egyptians don't celebrate Christmas
but hotels will have big parties and you can enjoy your Christmas in Egypt. Dec.

Ramadan has just began! Usually, nothing changes for tourists
in Luxor, because Luxor is a town for tourists! But be careful when you visit
other cities. Maybe some restaurants are closed and tombs and templese close earlier
than usual.@Oct. 27, 2003
We're now in winter season and Ramadan is coming soon! We'll
have a big holiday at the end of Ramadan but the tourist atractions in Luxor are
the same as usual. If you'd like to know anything, please let me know!@Oct. 15,

I just heard that the war has begun in Iraq. But my life is
the same as yesterday and my town, Luxor is as calm as before. I assure that tourists
can enjoy their trip to Egypt safely and also I hope the war will finish soon!
It's time for Luxor Marathon! It's on February 7, starting in front of the Temple of Hatshepsut, which is close to my home. I'll be there along the road, so if you see me on the way, please talk to me!
Opera "Aida" is finished but now we're expecting Ramadan! During Ramadan, daytime is rather quiet but at night, we're having a great dinner and stay up until the daybreak. Ramadan will be started around November 5. If you want to see Egyptian Ramadan, I think you should go to Khan el-Khalili at night!
Do you know what happened 80 year ago on November 4th? Howard Carter found the Tomb of Tut Ankh Amen! In Luxor, usually the festival is held on that day. If you're planning to visit Luxor in this fall, choose November 4th!
Do you know "Banana Island?" If you're tired of seeing around tombs and temples in the desert, it's a good choice to take a felucca to visit a small island on the Nile. If you need a help, please let me know!
Have you been to the third terrace of the Temple of Hatshepsut? It opend lately and not so many people have visited. Have a look at it and tell everyone what you saw. It's not on the guide book yet!
